How many days of travel is sufficient to appreciate the beauty of Taiwan without rushing?

I love to explore the culture, street food, places of interest but at a relaxing pace and hate to rush by going out too early everyday and getting back really late. Also, I hate to keep rushing in order to travel to many different places within a day because I like to appreciate the beauty of every country. From my description, how many days do you think would be sufficient for me to travel in Taiwan. I'm looking at 9 days? What are the places that you recommend? How many days of travel is sufficient to appreciate the beauty of Taiwan without rushing?
Hi, This is Pagan Dan's wife answering. He and I lived in Taiwan on and off for five of the past seven years and we feel we've just scratched the surface. What can you do in nine days? hmmm.... Well, you will probably start with Taipei. I lived and taught there for three years. It was great fun riding the MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) and just hopping off at an interesting place, of which there is no shortage. On the Brown Line, go to the end to the Taipei Zoo. While there take the Gondola up the Mountain and stop for tea in the mountainside at one of the many tea restaurants. Explore the town of Muzha one stop back on the MRT. Great food there, too. Hop back on the Brown Line and get off at Zhongxiao Fuxing stop. Explore the back lanes for more great food. Walk north on Fuxing to the shopping mall if you enjoy shopping or seeing a movie (on the 9th or 10th floor). Walk over to Dunhua Road and hit the back lanes again for more great food. Certainly no shortage of fabulous restaurants. You can do similar things on each of the red, blue and orange lines. Two weeks might suffice but in a pinch you might catch the highlites in a week. Go to Danshui, 1/2 hr north of Taipei. It's my most favourite place with it's boardwalk. You can snack as you walk along. Takes about 1/2 hour from one end to the other. There's also Yangminshan Mountain, Chiang Kai Shek Memorial, Dr. Sun Yat Sen Hall, Taipei 101 and more. Go online and check out things to do in Taipei and around Taiwan.

During your 2nd week, you could go down the stunning east coast. Don't miss Taroko Gorge which was 1/2 hr from where we lived in Hualien. Loved it there, too. Then, travel south through the most stunning scenery to Kenting, a local tourist getaway. Over west to Kaoshiang, the 2nd largest city in Taiwan. Continue up the west coast or go inland to Miaoli and/or Nantou Counties. Incredible scenery + Sun Moon Lake. Travelling in Taiwan could be an endless adventure for you. I'd allow a month but two weeks would give you a terrific overview. Enjoy!!! The tourists haven't discovered it yet. And another thing. You'll love the low prices of everything. Food is so inexpensive that we ate out all the time. If you live in N. America, you haven't experienced great Chinese food yet. Taiwan is the best. They also have great Thai food. Don't miss eating those shrimp cakes. Yummy! BTW, make sure to interact lots with the local people. You'll love them. They're so kind, friendly and helpful. Mind you, they also enjoy a free English lesson just by talking to you but it's worth it because you'll be able to learn about their culture if they can converse fairly well with you.How many days of travel is sufficient to appreciate the beauty of Taiwan without rushing?
Pagan Dan's wife has a nice list, but a few errors too.

Skip the Makong Gondola because it's broken (and it was just built too, hmm I wonder why) and they need to spend lots of NT$ + time to clean up that mess.

Taipei is a nice place- but too many overrated tourist traps. Yang-ming shan is definitely overrated- I mean come on, there are thousands of better looking mountains out in the east/central/south part of the island! Then there's Taipei 101 which can be summed up as a tower with a built in mall. That said if your coming over new-years (regular) then check out the fireworks show at the 101.

Oh, and I think the MRT doesn't run to the zoo on weekends anymore, so plan accordingly.
If you're looking for beauty, you can skip the West coast entirely... that will save you some time.

What is ideal physical beauty in a person through your eyes?

tall, handsome, big hands, dark hair, charming.. mmm...What is ideal physical beauty in a person through your eyes?
No I can't, because sometimes when you meet someone who is amazingly beautiful...but if the soul and heart inside aren't beautiful too, that person becomes ugly and you can't see the exterior as beautiful anymore. What is ideal physical beauty in a person through your eyes?
someone who has self-confidence...

It makes people a lot more attractive

';perception of beauty is a moral test';

Do you think physical beauty is more important than intelligence?

If you had to pick one over the other which one would it be and why?Do you think physical beauty is more important than intelligence?
If I had to pick one it would be intelligence. Because beauty fades as people age and intelligence doesn't. I can't stand dumb men in my face regardless of their physical. I love an intelligent man, they are very sexy. You can't talk to a dummy who is cute. What happens when you grow old with them and their looks fade. You got a old, ugly dummy. No thanks.Do you think physical beauty is more important than intelligence?
No, intelligence is now the far most important key that every one should have to survive in this world.Physical beauty should come the last as the the 2nd most important is the person's personality.U can't be juz lookin at someone's beauty and be mesmerised for the whole life. I guss u would also pick intelligence...xD
i cant say i would pick COMPLETE DOMINANCE of physical beauty over intelelgence, or COMPLETE DOMINANCE of intellegence over physical beauty, i would say a little bit of both... a lot more of physical beauty though for sure...
I think it has to be a combination of the two...

I definately don't want no brainless beautyqueen!

Then i would go for a more ';average'; looking girl who can keep me interested by her intelligence!
I would much rather have intelligence.
Yes. for relationship kind of ';sex for one night';.
Only in a house of ill-repute. Old saying'; If you want to be happy for the rest of your life, never make a pretty woman your wife.';
i like intelligence as it means the person is interesting and deep
I would choose a male me me ...
no

intelligence much more important cause if you cant communicate why be with them

i think jessica simpson is exceedingly beautiful but she acts (i dont think she is that dumb) exceedingly dumb and i find her less attractive for it
the smart ugly ones are the people that dont care what other people think. the attractive people care what other people think about them and their whole life becomes about looking good and not being a good person. everything revolves around looks these days and it's sad and wrong.
Intelligence.

Because then, I would know what to do with my beauty.
no physical beauty is not more important than intelligence.

if someone is purely beautiful and thick as pig s**t then you would soon be bored. however intelligence can keep you occupied a lot longer
I'd pick intelligence, definitely! An intelligent lady is an attractive lady to the attractive man...
Definitely intelligence. Beauty fades as one ages but intelligence is long lasting.
Intelligence. Would you rather be on Project Runway or have your face plastered everywhere saying how great that YOU had found a cure for some disease?
Definitely intelligence. Hands down, no question.
intelligence is the attribute that i find most attractive in a female. intelligent women are 100 times more beautiful then 'good looking' women in my oppinion ; )

Why do we perceive beauty that is not beneficial?

For example when you see a raibow, it is beauty yet does it benefit you?

Or a Waterfall, a beautiful bird, the Aurora Borealis

Why do we find such appreciation for things that do not help us at all?

What part of us is it that craves nourishment through witnessing beauty, even when it is seemingly useless? Why do we perceive beauty that is not beneficial?
just one of those things that's part of being human i suppose. hmmm...well, birds like shiny things, too.Why do we perceive beauty that is not beneficial?
human like moving colors....
Experiencing beauty is *always* beneficial, especially for the soul. To think/feel that something that has no ';monetary, material'; ';value'; is not beneficial is a fairly dysfunctional attitude, at least to those of us who have successfully resisted being brainwashed by the psychopaths who ';set'; the ';standards'; :)))
We have values that help us make our decisions. If we didn't have these values than we couldn't make decisions. For example, we wouldn't be able to choose which house to buy, or choose which person to marry.

We still have these values even when we do not have a choice to make about something. In analogy, I don't forget how to drive when I'm not in a car.
Do you ask this question from an evolutionist point of view ? If so beauty ';must'; be ';for'; something, so useless beauty should tend to disappear ... which is what we help to do when we pollute our planet.

On the other hand a waterfall is certainly useful to provide fish with a lot of oxygen, for example so it is useful to something. The fact that we -and birds etc.- find it beautiful is a by-product of our education.

This is complicated to explain in a few words.
Dunno - but I saw the bird in your avatar in real life recently and I was absolutely gob-smacked!
You've used examples from nature to describe beauty: Waterfall, bird, Northern Lights. These aren't useless, they remind us of where were from and how tranquil and relaxing it was to be there. Until some crocodile or tiger fancied having us for dinner, that is.

The part of us that craves the most is the part of us that knows it can't have. Bet you live in the city and have a hectic life.
Beauty is not useless at all, as witnessed by your pretty avatar picture. We appreciate the beauty because it reminds us that we're just small wheels spinning 'round something bigger and also, happily, pretty. It can be very ugly, too, which we see even more often, so the pretty sights are pointed out and exclaimed over. Why not?
I think beauty DOES benifit us... I feel, myself, that its a useful thing because it makes us appreciate things more. Seeing a rainbow makes me feel well and happy; a waterfall birds etc also make me feel glad to be alive, and glad to be able to see them... I have no clue WHY this is so, I just know it is...

I think the part of us that craves this is our heart and soul.

Without beauty to behold, I think our total existance would be mundane, boring and shallow. There'd be no joy in life..in the world...Am I being silly here? Im sorry if you think I am, its how I feel...

Im glad I can see. Im glad there are beautiful things around me all the time. Sometimes if you had / have a near death experience or a close shave at death such as a car accident, or similar; you can start to see natures things for the first time ever (cos that's the effect it can have) It can really open your eyes and give you a new lease of life in general.

OR

when you go through dark periods in your life, seeing something wonderful like a rainbow (I mean, where do the colours come from..no-one said god had paint!) can make so much difference to your outlook.

Music also does this for me..If Im down, and I listen to certain types of music, it uplifts me...Im totally not a religious person, Indeed I dont believe in God at all, but I really do think that nature uplifts the soul...all beautiful things do...

I believe that if we all surround ourselves with things that we find beautiful, in our homes and our lives in general, that we will always feel good about stuff, never get the reason to feel down or suicidal, and I think that would be perfect... everyone happy,,,, what a great place the world would be
Sadists %26amp; Masochists find beauty in mistreatment. Doesn't mean they grab a pack of aspirin in case it all goes horribly wrong. We are all very sick.
Instinctually, almost as a side effect of our intelligence, human's seek order and patterns. They comfort us by giving us some sense of permanence and security. I think this is at the root of our lust for beauty.
Why do we (not me) cheer a home run hit into the top deck - it doesn't score any more runs than a fly ball, that's caught by the wind %26amp; limps over the fence.

It's all subjective. We all have tastes and many of them don't benefit the individual or the species.

How else do you explain people supporting the Arizona Cardinals ?
i think we should not always think od benefit or loss... our mind wants relax... but today we all busy with our own stuff....

and every human being love to see these beautiful things and this natural beauty doesn't think whether its getting benefit when we see them.... :)

so just enjoy... why to mess with these kinda thoughts
Perhaps it is something to do with our brains wanting us to be happy, and finding things that make us happy. I wonder if the concept of beauty is unique to humans or if some animals feel it too?
probably because we feel calm, it's something strange it's true, but nature's strange anyway:)
beauty does benefit us but not according to your definition of benefit. i feel happy when i see a rainbow, for one thing.
I think those come from the sense of awe. An awe of how it blows your mind. You can't even imagine how much water goes over Niagra Falls, and how fast. You can't imagine being it. It's efficiency. It's differentness.

  • What would you consider the relationship is between art and beauty?

Love is always beautiful; if it is ugly it is not love. So why is art considered beautiful even if it is down right ugly?

What do you consider art? How do you perceive beauty? I have been trying to answer these questions for months and have gotten nowhere. I would really like to have some heart felt answers please, not something copied from a website, but written from the heart and mind of the writer. What would you consider the relationship is between art and beauty?
Art can represent beauty, but it can also provoke other emotions. Or get people to think.

Schindler's List was a magnificent movie, but dealt with horrific subject matter.

Picasso's Gurenica is also great art - it makes a statement but portrays the tragedy of war.

I have often defined art as either something difficult to reproduce - the exquisite Greek and Roman statues found in museums, a wonderful painting, or a symphony - or something less so, although also totally original. (Like the paintings at the Metropolitan museum in NYC - the first person to present a plain white canvas with a red stripe gets credit for the idea.)

So a faithful reproduction of something ugly can be great art.

I'm not schooled in art history, but there's a layman's view. What would you consider the relationship is between art and beauty?
Art is the STUDY of the different techniques you can use.In order to do real art you have to prepare yourself. Art is intentional and rational, you can express ideas, you have standardized rules for it.There are many definitions for art

In the other hand Beauty or aesthetic is based on subjective opinions ,has to do with emotions and feelings, your five senses are involved. In art something ';ugly or grotesque'; can be ';beautifully '; expressed on a painting. Also depend on the culture around the person, Time, space, and experiences.
Actually, I think love can be downright ugly as well.

I consider ';art'; to be something that evokes a response/emotion. That emotion doesn't have to be ';happiness and light.'; In fact, happiness and light are easy to represent, easy to recognize, and, as odd as it sounds hearing myself say this, can be kind of mundane.

It's the darker things about ourselves that we seek to resolve...there's nothing we need to really EXAMINE about beauty, perfection, and contentment. They make great things to hang over the sofa in the living room, but they're not so interesting to sit in a gallery and contemplate.

Sometimes a person's expression of pain, or other dark emotion, can be beautiful...just the risk they took expressing it, the fact that they got it OUTSIDE themselves. Maybe it's not just the end result that we find interesting or worthy of being called ';art'; but the process of drawing that out from oneself.
Art has long set the standards for beauty in a given era. Whether it's chubby Rubeneque beauties or Twiggy, the arts depict and beauty follows.

Many people wouldn't appreciate a still life with dead rabbits and pheasants in their dining rooms today, but it was quite fashionable at the time.
sleep with beauty, mastbate on playboy
Sorry to use a cliche but Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Not all art is considered beautiful at all, that's an incorrect assumption. If you think that a painting is ugly then it's ugly, beauty is not always a universal truth but a very subjective concept. I consider art to be anything creative; paintings, sculptures and even more obscure art like painting chewing gum on London pavements but just because it is art it doesn't automatically mean it is good!
The first answer on the list is a good one. I'm not a big art fan, but I live in a town that has a good college, and they get new exhibits every couple of months in their art gallery. My wife and I always go see them, because she enjoys it. I like the pieces that you can feel the passion of the artist come through. You can tell if the artist was just working on a piece to make a piece, or if they were putting their heart and soul into it. That is where the beauty comes out. Like the old cliche' says, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I don't know if art is exactly about beauty. I think art is about the artist expressing theirself with passion, love, joy, or pain.

Most of the great sculptures, paintings, movies, and musical pieces of our time are based upon events or feelings that are down-right ugly, but the finished piece is beautiful because of the passion and love the artist put into it.
Remember, beauty is in the eye of the beholder...I do have to disagree with you when you say love is A L W A Y S beautiful, no it isn't, and yes you can still call it love...you must have never experience this...now..Beauty and Art...Beauty is a state of mind where You may think it is or isn't pretty, that is your choice. Art is a physical thing, something someone has created (painted, sculptured etc...but ironically they both can touch the heart, just writing this excerpt warms my heat thinking of the two...This is why we are individuals , having our own opinions...and how we perceive things...sometimes it is all up to you, making choices...whats pretty to me can be down right ugly to you..you may love the Mona Lisa I may detest it. Choices and opinions ..Like I said... it is all up to y o u.........
I don't think that all art is necessarily beautiful. And I don't think that art even strives to be beautiful (not all the time). Art is not synonymous with love.

I consider art to be a thing designed to provoke an emotional response, something meant to provoke thought or express an idea. The word art has a very broad definition.

The Dali Lama has an interesting perspective on what beauty is, which I agree with. It is also a very broad (nebulous) definition. I'll try to paraphrase: One can find beauty in anything - war, love, anything - it's user defined. He asks: Can even the art of killing be considered beauty, especially painless killing?

if you are looking for any beauty make up or hair styles you should go to your local mall or go to a hair salon and ask them any specific looks you are looking for to your daughters hair. Also if you want make up you should really get lip gloss and a clean eye shadow make up with really nice mascara. If you want to straighten her hair and make it plain straight and braid her hair for about an hour and itss going to make wavy or you can straighten her hair and twist her hair in a bun for a hour and its going to make it very wavy soft on top and glamouras on the bottom.Where can I find beauty tips for 13 and under?

Who decided that girls in beauty pageants should look like they are from 1985?

I'm not a big fan of beauty pagents in general. But if you are going for pure beauty, I feel that most women look a lot better in understated makeup, smoother hair, and less gaudy clothing. Who in the heck thinks red glitter, 2 foot high hair, and oompa loompa tans emphasize beauty?Who decided that girls in beauty pageants should look like they are from 1985?
i have always wondered that myself. i think its gross and stupid looking. luckly the dresses have gotten CONSIDERABLY less gaudy since 1985. the two foot hair and oompa loompa tans seem to be here to stay thoughWho decided that girls in beauty pageants should look like they are from 1985?
i guess the beauty pagents started/got popular near 1985 and its just a tradition i guess. i like it loads though!

  • What does the younger generation like to see in a modern beauty salon?

I am trying to make my salon more appealing to younger clientel, any suggestions on how to make the business popular. My salon is located in a small town in New Jersey. What does the younger generation like to see in a modern beauty salon?
    Define younger?

    I'm 34, dress like I'm 16 and get mistaken for 22.

I want hip, not some Queer Eye tragically hip, but someplace I feel comfy in that makes me feel as if I'm the coolest one around

Let there be something to see.

I spent this valentines day in a spa getting everything done. After about 5 hours, I was bored to tears.

You should have young, informed stylists - not Suzy's Mom or Aunt who's reading teen beat, but someone we can relate with. What does the younger generation like to see in a modern beauty salon?
I live in Chicago, and a lot of places that target the young and hip offer martinis and manicures a few nights a week and show fun television like American Idol or Project Runway. It builds buzz about the salon, and it becomes more of a fun destination than a necessary evil.
Go to a mall in the big city. Its har dto go after two demographics. Anyway consider the age of people working for you. Consider your deco. Just the style of the building (inside and out) will do a lot. Some nice paint on the walls very modern also some cheap modern paintings. Maybe music, etc.

Now product. This is number one. If you have the drive in you be creative. Look for the latest trends. Take your research further. We can all look at magazines but look at european culture and styles. Look at things happening n the west coast. Be the first to bring things to the east coast or America.

Not just hair styles either. YOu can find some great products out there from dyes, spray etc if you are always looking and talking to people from many places.

I would suggest starting another question asking about the latest styles etc.

Also adverts, if you do any try new places. Next pick your price most kids have 100% disposable income so consider this. When things cost more people are more attracted to it. Always remember to offer a product worth the mark up.

A few things to add to the salon are:

    1) cappuccino machine

    2) foutain soda

    3) nice TV in waiting area

if business picks up I would put small flat screens at each chair. However I am thinking total revamp and going 100% modern. However location may not be worth the extreme investment.
for starters, drop the ';beauty salon'; thing and revamp/rename as a salon and day spa. Add massage therapy, mud bathes, cucumber facials etc. and you will make a bundle
Since nobody has mentioned it yet - how about some small ';focus groups';?

You didn't state your age, but you probably have friends, employees, neighbors, people at your church who have family members who are part of the ';younger generation';.

Gather them together, get some refreshments, ask them what sort of stuff they look for in a beauty salon, what's it look like, what are the employees like, what sort of services do they offer? Let them all just throw out ideas - don't reject anything.

Another thought is if there is a college/university/community college or area high school talk to the teacher/instructor and see if they'd be willing to take it on as a class project (finding out what people want) - you could even offer to pay a reasonable amount (the teacher could probably help you figure out a fair amount) and make it an actual job (so you don't look like you're trying to mooch of the students!). It would be good experience for somebody interested in a career in marketing or advertising.

Some things are also going to be affected by your location. You mentioned you're in a small town in NJ - if you're close to somewhere like NYC, you'd do something different than if you were in a small town in the middle of nowhere.

You might also be able to ';scout'; the competition. Find a place that caters to the clientle you're trying to pick up - and then see what they have to offer (don't take notes while you're in there - that'd be too conspicuous). I'd try and find several (at least 3 or 4) so that you can get a representative sample. You might be able to deduct any travel off of your taxes as well (check with your tax advisor).

If you have any sort of industry magazine (something for salon owners), you could write in to them - or check for articles.

Also look for magazines that cater to your target audience. Look through them (maybe goto the library and look through back issues) and see sort of articles they have on hairstyles, or trips to the salon.

Of course, you could always have an advertising or marketing company and ask them to do some market research for you.

But I'm assuming you'd like to do this on the cheap.

    Good luck to you!
Young employees is the key. Not too young, mid 20's to early 30's. I love having my hair cut by someone closer to my age. And i have seen many older women really enjoy talking to younger people. Also different beauty treatments. I don't know what kind of things you offer, but unique products for facials, a green tea pedicure, those sorts of things have drew me into places.
Brighter colors, hip music, friendly non intimadating stylists

What are the best kinds of pics for photogenic in a beauty pageant?

My 2 daughters ages 11 %26amp; 13 are going to be in a pageant. I have to take pictures for most photogenic and I am not sure what judges are looking for. Do they want just head shots, black %26amp; white, fun pics, themed pics, or pics by the pros? I am clueless. Any advice would be welcome. Thanks. What are the best kinds of pics for photogenic in a beauty pageant?
Depends on the pageant. Glitzier pageants want retouched photos. More natural pageants will be happy with a simple headshot or shoulders-up shot. Make sure they have good eye contact and no shadows on their faces. If you do black and white, don't do a black or dark turtleneck, makes it look like their head is floating in space! Try a patterned shirt or dress or something with stripes or polka dots. You can do an open collar shirt or polo shirt. Make sure the top doesn't detract from their face. You want the judges to see their face, not the clothes. Eye contact is the most important, and that they are showing personality with their eyes and smile. Color shots, same rules, but make sure it is a color that doesn't wash them out, don't do a white shirt,,,washes everyone out in a picture. Not a lot of accessories either, again you want them to see their face. Try Picture People, Clix, places like that. Good place to get your first time headshot and cheaper than a pro photographer. What are the best kinds of pics for photogenic in a beauty pageant?
idk but photogenic means you look good in any picture. so i don't think it should really matter, just a picture where they look cute in you know? i'd say if they put on dresses and went to the beach or something!
fun pics that are somewhat professionalll

There are many different ways to market your website effectively but the most cost-effective one is by far search engine optimization.

The process of search engine optimization is simply the ability to take your website and turn it into a website that the search engines love. Search engines will then be able to not only index the different pages contained within your website but they will also be able to rank them high up in the search engine results.

What is the best way to approach local businesses about my beauty product brochure?

I just started to sell beauty products (cosmetics and skincare) and want to leave my brochure at local businesses showcasing various products. How should I approach them and what should I say? What is the best way to approach local businesses about my beauty product brochure?
Think about what's in it for them? If they can make a profit that will be great. If you are just leaving brochures most small businesses are o.k. with that- it just depends. Here are some tips.

    1. When you call on them, make sure you are dressed as a professional.

    2. Get the name of the owner or the decision maker.

    3. Ask for the decision maker and set an appointment (they

might want to meet with you on the spot).

    4. Make sure your brochures are crisp- no bends.

    5. Introduce yourself, thank them for meeting with you, ask If you can get 15 minutes of their time. Talk about your brochures and products and what you want them to do with them.

Make sure you know your products, and be prepared to answer questions.

If there is a profit for them let them know. i.e. Mr. Business man, thank you for meeting with me, I would like to show you how you can increase your profits by.... If you need more time during the meeting ask him/her is it o.k.

    Think like a giant!

    Be bold as a Lyon!

    Persevere!

    I hope this helps!

Where is the best place to advertise for volunteers in the USA? Where can I advertise for volunteers to test skin care and beauty products (products are free). It would have to be free, and I have tried craigslist

I have to be able to do it through the internet, thanks for your help.Where is the best place to advertise for VOLUNTEERS, to test beauty products free?
Please do Not send anyone your personal information especially home address, last name, city/state or other personal info as no one really knows the other person's intentions regardless of whether it's legit or not.

If you are with an actual company, that would probably be easier to get volunteers so that people can know that the products are (relatively) safe to try. I wonder if monster.com advertises for volunteers of products. It sounds like market research but I don't know if people will actually try a 'strange' product from someone that they don't know.

(And just a word to the wise about Craigslist, there was a 'nanny' from minnesota that was answering a job ad from the list and ended up dead in her trunk with a 19 year old male in custody, so please be careful all around.)Where is the best place to advertise for VOLUNTEERS, to test beauty products free?

  • What kind of licensure do I need to sell my natural beauty products?

I make 100% natural face serums, mineral makeup, and various other natural products which can be individually customized for your skin type, color etc. I have many potential customers but don't know what I need to do to make it legal. Can anyone help? What kind of licensure do I need to sell my natural beauty products?
Check with your state's website regarding their business license procedures. You will need to get a tax ID and business license of some type whether it be an llc or dba.

Me and my friend would like to start a mobile hair, beauty and photography business together.?

My cousin is a qualified hair dresser and beauty therapist. I'm a professional photographer. So the idea is, we would go the client's home where they would request however many beauty/hair treatments they wanted in order to make them look beautiful for a photo shoot afterwards. I was wondering about the technicalities of running such a business. Maybe whether we'd need a license or something? Thanks in advance.Me and my friend would like to start a mobile hair, beauty and photography business together.?

what will you do all this time?

what will she do when you take the pics?

where will you take the pics as back drop is important too

travel time for two people is expensive

seems to be a lot of time one person does very little!

    how much demand is there?

you also seem to limit your skills to just one area of photography

But there must be a market in the wedding service area so think that might be a good area to focus

    good luck!
Come on first get advice from the source ie; your partner must have trained somewhere get her to see old friends in the same work , see how many people who are mobile hair dressers, you don,t need a licence only a portfolio and recomendation letters from clients, the same with you then look into weddings etc.
Yeah i think you would need a license cause you might get in a bundle of trouble if you need one and you don't have one.

Natural. Chemicals leave residues on skin.

Thats why lipsticks tend to darken lips and nail polish leaves color on nails -other things do others, but maybe not visible.

Couple of natural products here which are absolutely brilliant.

You should consider that every product you put on your skin it is is absorbed into your blood and internal system. For this reason I use Arbonne products they are botanically based, which means that they are as natural as possible, yet in case that a natural ingredient is not available the chemical equivalent to it is used to the minimum amount which is less than 0.01%. If you would like to know more about it, feel free to email me.
in my opinion, herbal pdts r good for ur skin...u kno y....no chemicals means ur skin can be more healthy....one thing i've to tell u is that chemicals based pdts tend to age out ur skin once u stop applying those..but herbal pdts donot have such side effects..

How much is beauty a part of success?

In business or in every day life.

Some of us are models, some of us are not eligible to take part in beauty contests, and some are just plain scary. It is said that a first good impression is a key to success.

So how much would the beauty factor weigh to have a successfull life? How much is beauty a part of success?
hundreds of studies have been done on this and it's really not open for personal opinions anymore. unfortunately, against the politically correct mafia, the beauty factor absolutely matters. the effects of attractiveness begin to show themselves at birth (parents favor cuter children - shown in research) and proceed into kindergarden (teachers favor attractive children and children like attractive teachers more) and of course high school (where attractiveness accounts for most of the variation in ';popularity';). In the workplace, the same biases and stereotypes about attractive people hold, and some research indicates that people simply feel better around attractive people. Looking at an attractive face stimulates the brain in different ways (both male and female - heterosexual) than looking at an unattractive face.

it can be quite depressing, but just remember the absolute percentage of highly attractive people is only around 10%... we just think it's much higher because of the images we are bombarded with in the media of the most attractive people in the world. Some of us also have a cognitive bias to make ';upward comparisons'; and remember attractive people more than unattractive people...so we feel uglier than we actually are.How much is beauty a part of success?
Beauty always helps but you there are a lot of very ugly and very successful business people out there.
The main reason beauty plays such a big role in success is the fact that people that are attractive tend to have a lot more self confidence. Thus, they are more outgoing, friendly and are happier.
It opens doors but not a lot beyond that. after the door is open the remainder is based on skill, personality and ability. Unless your screwing the boss of course, But then the success only lasts as long as the boss does.
I would say at least 85%. I personally have seen it. A woman can have a masters degree and be perfectly qualified for a position, if a younger / more attractive girl applies with only a HS diploma, depending on the company and the new boss, the more attractive girl will get the job. I have seen people move forward in companies and leap over the ';competition'; because of their looks, not skill. Race, weight, height, hair, teeth, style of dress and even mode of transportation all matter in 2007.

It's just a hardcore fact, looks matter in American society. Perception is reality.

    Just my $0.02...
    too much than should be
In certain businesses, it is a Minor Issue beside more essential issues....

A Computer Programmer is a soild example...

In other Businesses, it is an absolute Priority

    Prostitution is a solid example....

    Isn't that LOGICAL ?
Because first impressions last, beauty is a major factor in a successful life
    it shouldn't

but pretty people are found to be more successful because people would tolerate them more than ugly people hence more experiences, better attitude, and more opportunities.
Its quite a lot important though not many will agree with me on that. But it really is.
First impressions are important; however for those of us that don't look like the stars it is not the only thing that matters. A good first impression is not just the physical one you must have the wining personality (at least during the interview) and that can make the interviewer rethink any impressions they may have had about a persons appearances. Of course you have even a better chance at a job if you have the qualifications that they are looking for.
Depends on the career. Models, it's a big part. Brainy jobs like computer programmers and scientists, not a big part. Finanacial jobs like investment bankers and stockbrokers where image is a big deal, it's pretty important.
actually too much i don't mean to say am pretty or something but where ever i go i can get easily cool jobs what ever i want to
Donald Trump.. Need I say more?
Depends on what job you have and in what industry you work in. But generally, successful life depends not only on beauty, but also on brains. If you use your brain correctly and you make the wright choices, then you can use your beauty. Don't forget the inner beauty, which this makes you worth as a human and makes you different from the others.
Beauty gets your foot in the door more. It makes things easier. A study showed people are just nicer to good looking people. But it has a backlash against it: men stalk you, your boss try to have sex with you. So beauty may get you in the door but only your brains and willpower will keep you there.
More than you might think, studies show that good looking people often get the picked first, it's just natural part of life. It has to do with Hyman's inadvertent way of selecting the strongest genes to get th job done.
Good looking people tend to be better at social interaction. So it is easier to network and make allies. Confidence is a big factor in everything, physical apperance plays a big role in that as well.
In business, beauty matters. It may not be fair but that's the truth. People always like to be surrounded by beautiful people.
A lot..... I've seen it first hand. Look around you. I bet you can see that the pretty girl will get asked if she'd like a seat before the ugly girl does. It has been studied that people ';take to'; beautiful things including people. It makes us feel more comfortable. I love people watching and I've noticed this almost daily.
Not to sure, we have more average looking people in the world than glamorous or pure ugly. You know what, forget it. I can't explain my thoughts.

  • What kind of beauty regimen is right for me?

I am going to be getting a professional job when I graduate from college %26amp; I need to get started on taking care of myself better. I have had jobs before where I didn't really care what I looked like, but working in a hospital has me rethinking my entire outlook on personal grooming. I've never really spent mush time on my appearance ... comfort being my main concern, but I am wanting a change. I am a stay at home mom and studying online so, I am going to use this time at home to work on my grooming habits. The questions I have are:

What beauty regimen is best for me? I have normal to dry skin, my pores are HUGE, i have what looks like tiny blackheads on my nose, sunspots under my eyes are appearing, and people say sometimes the area around my nose and mouth looks discolored ... wtf? I need to know what routine I should start now, to improve my confidence and overall beauty. What kind of beauty regimen is right for me?
It is great that you are starting now to look at a regimen before you get into the hectic time of a new job.

A very basic regimen should consist of wash, tone, and moisturizer for your face. You should do this routine every evening to remove any make-up. You can expand this face regimen into a daily shower in the morning to get yourself refreshed after a night's sleep. A morning wash, tone, mousturize will get your skin awake and the puffiness off your eyes. A balanced moisturizer is a must. If the moisturizer is too oily you will break out.

Once every two weeks (or every week) you can do an exfoliating scrub that will help sluff off the dead skin. I like to switch between a facial scrub and a masque. The masque helps to draw out impurities and nourishes the healthy skin below.

Make-up is applied lightly. Use colors that compliment your eye color. Foundations should be invisible. That means they should match your natural skin tone so that imperfections are smoothed out, but your natural beauty comes through.

Hope that helps. You can also get more information on my website listed below.

Good Luck!!What kind of beauty regimen is right for me?
natural beauty regimen is still the best,

wash your face with water and soap plus a organic cream, this will surely make your skin beautiful.

check this site www.organic-thanakha.com Report Abuse

I think for your combination skin, first you need a gentle cleanser that won't dry your skin out, maybe a milky bar or moisturizing cream wash.

Second, a toner will REALLY help out with the blackheads and discoloration (try the brightening toner by boots found at target)

Third, a medium moisturizer during the day made for dry skin and at night, use a night cream.

Fourth, find an eye cream and some special sunscreen for the eye area.

Fifth, exfoliate once a week to get rid of the discolorations :) But no more than once a week because since your skin is on the dry side, it won't tolerate more.

    Hope this helps.

have a bowl of warm water and have it over your face to open your pores so you can clean your pores so you don't have any blackheads. then wash face with warm water with a scrub. i like using apricot scrub. and after you are done with cleaning use a toner if you like, you don't have to. and then splash your face with COLD water. which helps minimize the appearance of pores.
i use MAC peep and prime for the face, and it helps shrink pores amazingly. also it helps make up stay on land last longer.

if you dont wear make up, it just feels really nice on your skin and it leaves a light shimmer.

also a toner will shrink your pores and cold water shrinks pores. so after you take a hot shower, run your face under cold water
';Try to keep your face clean and free from build-ups in those pores';; my facial lady told me. Wash your face using those little soft facial brush will help. As for products, you will have to find the ones that suit for your skin; everyone has different reactions to different products.

To make my eyes look less tired from pulling an allnighter, just use some white eyeliner around the corner of your eyes and they instantly brighten up, also you know the water line at your bottom eyelashes, theres something similar to that at the top

so just pull your eyelid up to see where the eyelashes start and just line that with a black eyeliner, it instantly gives your eyes lash a boost, they seem dark and fuller.

Can I recycle or donate half-used and unused beauty supplies and cleaning products?

If so, who would want them? I'm cleaning out my bathroom, and there's just so much - I'd hate to throw it all away. Can I recycle or donate half-used and unused beauty supplies and cleaning products?
There's a website where people donate their unwanted items to other people for free when they don't want the items ending up in the trash or landfill. I think this site will really help in your situation. The link is at the bottom of the message. Can I recycle or donate half-used and unused beauty supplies and cleaning products?
I don't know anyone who would accept or use half-used bottles of anything. I suggest you share them with your mom or relatives.
You'll have to toss the cosmetics but you may be able to donate the cleaning supplies to homeless or women's shelters, or to animal shelters. Depends what it is, call and ask.
In my city, you can donate paints, varnishes, pool chemical, grout cleaners, etc. Can shop their donations and help yourself to up to 10 items/ month I beleive. Abused family shelters perhaps, homeless shelters. City takes care of this. They mix neutral paints together and mix well or filter???Then sell 5 gallon buckets for $15.00(White, crean, tan)
Any cosmetics you've opened have to be thrown away. Because of the danger of infections and product tampering and so on, nobody will be able to take them. If you have anything unopened you may be able to donate them. There are organizations that gather things for women new to the workforce that might like things that are business appropriate, or food shelves might take them. (They also take things like soap and feminine hygiene products)

Its the same story with cleaning products - if they haven't been opened, food shelves will probably like them, but if they have been opened food shelves won't be able to take them. Some areas have drop off sites for things like cleaners and paint and so on that can either be used by somebody else, or need to be disposed of safely (best not to dump cleaners down the drain or send it to the landfill if you have a better option. I don't know what area you are in, but I've linked to a site we have in our area.
Another place to try would be somewhere you know the people ex... your church. Wonderful of you to want to donate as opposed to throwing out. It drives me nuts the way people just throw everything out.

How much does beauty and sexual attractiveness play apart in women's social value?

I mean to say- relative to all other things women are respected for in society (by men and society as a whole), how large a percentage does women's sexual attractiveness make up in that equation? How much does beauty and sexual attractiveness play apart in women's social value?
I think in general when some is good at what they do and given the freedom to do it well and they feel recognised for it, they just ooos ';mojo'; everyone who has mojo is attractive. How much does beauty and sexual attractiveness play apart in women's social value?
    That's a loaded question.

Many women feel that beauty is the ONLY factor in determining their social value, and so pursue it and its milestones (playboy boyfriend, modeling, etc.) to the exclusion of everything else. Some of these women end up being quite successful. Many, of course, do not.

On the other hand, I know quite a few women that, for lack of a better term, I could only describe as ';alpha females';, whose personality gives them high social value, regardless of how attractive they are. Given, with that type of personality tends to come a high degree of motivation to look good, and many of them do-but pretty much of all them have what they want, when they want it.
Like it or not beauty does play a part in how people are viewed by others. If you're not the best in the looks department then you'll just have to accept this handicap and make up for it in other areas (chances are you already do).

It seems a lot easier for not so good-looking men to be judged by their talents rather than their looks. How many exceptionally talented but ugly female celebrities are there?

I don't think a woman dolling herself up is going to make much of a difference though. People's social perceptions are more based on natural beauty such as a symmetrical face. As long as you are hygenic and don't have an ugly haircut, there's not much you can do to change it.
    A whole lot.

It is very difficult to be raised in this society (I am US - middle class to affluent city) and NOT base at least some of your self worth as a typical woman on your looks.

This is something that I have struggled with for a long time - at age 34 now, I am feeling the pressure as I start to look older....

The media is CONSTANTLY throwing in your face ways to become beautiful - ways to loose weight, affirming that we are never OK as we are...that we NEED to buy the products in order to be successful, loved, and happy.

Example - how many times do you see these ridiculous hydroxycut things on the internet showing a normal woman and saying ';do you look like this';...';well why aren't you doing something abuot it?! don't you want to look like that?'; and then there will be a picture of a girl who looks like a model, or a personal fitness trainer.

It gets old. You start feeling like you can't just be normal - that normal women --- who are 5';2 and 140 --- are not acceptable. You should be aspiring to look perfect in order to be happy, loved, succesful, and a respected part of society.

And no - not all women subscribe to this.....but it takes a tremendous amount of positive influence, support, role models, affirmation, and tuning-out the other influences....which are very insidious. And the women who are happy as they are --- who don't look perfect are very often categorized as lazy, apathetic, and bitches if they don't conform.
Not as much as they would like to think. Women go to ridiculous lengths, put pressure on themselves, and compete on the basis of looks. We men are judged the same way, but money, power, and influence are added to the matrix. But most of us just say the heck with what others think. Like me, or like me not.
More than we want to admit.

It plays the biggest part there is; for instance a woman could be into wearing jeans, T-shirts and fipper-floppers, but you can bet her hair is going to be brushed to accentuate her features, her sun-glasses are going to accentuate her features.
At a Young age, alot.. as they age, not as much.

As men mature, they realize that women need to have a personality in order to be worth anything. Alot of girls can get by on their looks for a while, but once they start dealing with mature more then need to have more substance.
It completely depends on the woman. I know some who would rather wear a T-shirt and jeans in a heartbeat...no matter what. Others cannot pass a window or mirror without checking the hair. Some absolutely must have name brand EVERYTHING, while others could give a rats ***
Everything. As a man i don't even want to talk to a woman if i'm not attracted to her and don't blame me it's how God made us. Fortunately the ratio of good-looking women to men is 20-1.
The vast majority, just like the majority of men's social value is money and power.
Women, respected in society?!?? Interesting. Obviously completely false, but interesting.
Just look at the multi-billion dollar cosmetic industry.

Its a week before the night out and I just want my body, makeup, hair to look great. What should I do?

Thanks. What should my beauty regime be before a night out?
As a beauty therapist myself, i have found that if u exfoliate with an AHA and BHA exfoliant the night before and then put on a really hydrating mask for 10-15 mins. Your makeup will go on really well and smoothly. U can even sleep in the mask to avoid that dehydrated/lined look u sometimes get with makeup when ur skin is slightly dry.

Just put on a really nice moisturiser that night and ur makeup should last longer then normal!

I can only help u with the skin side of this question :)What should my beauty regime be before a night out?
Body: drink lots of water, and green tea to get rid of fat and water that麓s not necessary. Yoga exercises will help you relax and sleep better and tighten your muscles. The same day your going out, take a bath with essential oils.

Hair: Depending on your kind of hair buy a hair mask and apply it (not on the roots), wear a plastic cap and blow it dry (heat will make it act deeper). Wash your hair, and rinse it with vinegar and cold water for extra shine. Then style it.

Makeup: Clean your face and before the moisturizer, damp a cotton ball on green tea (it麓s better if its cold), this will help your skin so much that you麓ll look the difference. You can also wear a yogurth mask, is great. For the night I love stressing my eyes with grey eyeshadow and black eyeliner. Wear lipgloss in a natural shade. You can also wear tons of mascara and red lips.

I suggest after you take your shower, Im guessing you take a shower before you go out

Cleanse your face, then put a nice cream/lotion/moisturizer just to make your face glow and be luminous

Put on your concealer/foundation if you want to

add some bronzer, and at the place where it sucks in when you suck in your lips and cheeks put some bronzer there

put on anything you have to make your skin glow

    a nice natural blush

    any cute lipgloss/stick you prefer

eyeshadow, make it look sexy, since its night... mascara, very sexy lashes are always a must

put some bronzer on your body as well if you have any body bronzer

then for your hair I always like to do a sexy wispy wavy look, all wild and let down

Always put on makeup with a robe on as its more safer that way, Im sure you wouldn't like to get anything on your outfit your going out with but thats just logic ;)
use that Jergens tanning lotion (if your pale) to get some color. Make sure you are moisturizing your skin daily so it stays soft. Exfoliate %26amp; remove all your makeup before bed. Tweeze your brows a couple days before. Do your nails %26amp; toes. Make sure that you plan your outfit and makeup ahead of time. Try it out before hand to make sure you like it.
First buy a whole new outfit shoes included. and if its cold a nice coat or blazer. once you have a outfit picked out now you can decide on make up, work with whatever color your outfit is and go from there. as far as your hair, curl it or do some thing you wouldn't normally do and that's that. good luck and have fun.
Cleanse face with a good wash, use toner, serum, a good moisturizer and eye cream. Same in the morning.

Scrub in shower with an exfoliator.

    Have Fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You can do more dramatic look at night %26amp; wear darker colors. Try using a high lighter too to make your eyes stand out.

How does the Beauty and the Beast transformation scene occur on Broadway?

What does the actor playing the beast have to do to turn back into the beast inside the castle and how is it shielded from the audience? How does the Beauty and the Beast transformation scene occur on Broadway?
well I recently saw it on vacation in barcelona...and the basic stage set up was a high tower where at least two people can stand at once and when belle sees him she drapes him with her coat/cape thingy lol and i think there was like a fan under him so it just started to kinda bulge up and stuff...and I believe it wasn't the main beast who fought gaston it's the stunt double...and when he dies the actual beast is in the tower waiting for his cue...and i also think there was a trap door under the beast and then they did the switch the beast went through trap door while the fan was blowing and then the prince got in the same spot as the beast...if it's a little confusing I'm sorry...I wrote this based on memory of about a month ago...anyways hope this helps ';/

What is a good classical music piece that expresses beauty in simple things, and is optimistic';?

I am making a slide show of nature photographs set to classical music for a class. I am looking for a classical music piece that expresses the beauty in simple thing, is optimistic (maybe in a major key), and possibly changes to a minor key at the end (the changing of seasons). I will have to write a paper on why I chose the piece and was hoping I could find something that went along with the changes of seasons, and could relate to the simple beauty of the scenery in my photographs. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance. What is a good classical music piece that expresses beauty in simple things, and is optimistic';?
Its not technically classical, but try Yiruma. I did something similar to what you are doing, and his work was perfect for it. I used the piece ';If I could See you Again';. Check it out its awesome! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mikudzy6D鈥?/a>What is a good classical music piece that expresses beauty in simple things, and is optimistic';?
    Try Beethoven's 6th symphony

yes, definitely an extended excerpt from appalachian spring would work.

    also, Debussy, ';clair de lune';

    or Ravel, ';Pavane por une infante defunte';

    or Satie, ';Gymnopedie no. 1';

    Or Saint-Saens ';The Swan';
I was also going to suggest the Copland. I think Simple Gifts would be great for this project.

Beethoven: Symphony 6, or else, Morning Mood by Grieg

How easy is it to transer to another Cosmetology / Beauty school?

I am planning of starting my cosmetology school in California, but in about 5 months or so i may move to another state [prbly Oregon or Georgia, not quite sure right now]. I was wondering how easy it is to transfer credits to another school usually?

The reason i want to start now instead of waiting is because my Dad will pay if i go to this school, so it would help me TONS. Plus i have free rent and all.How easy is it to transer to another Cosmetology / Beauty school?
Beauty school is not like college. Each state has it's own rules reguarding cosmetologist.(hours you must have before taking the state board test.) I'm a hairstylist in wisconsin if i go to anotheer state I might have to go back to school. It all depends on that state hours not credits. You should find out what the hours are for the state you're moving to first.

  • What qualification do I need to work in a beauty salon as a nail technician?

Do I need an NVQ or will a diploma do? There are home learn courses that give you a diploma that match the NVQ exactly. What qualification do I need to work in a beauty salon as a nail technician?
Nail technician? Is that even a real job?

    An advanced colouring-in diploma?

How can it be a recession if people still have the money to pay for bleedin nail technicians? What qualification do I need to work in a beauty salon as a nail technician?
a degree in cosmotology (can't spell it) i would look in your big heavy phone book under salon, or training and look for school of cosmotology, the courses take about 3 months and you can get your degree good luck.

Honestly, i really don't know if that would work, I have no experience in this kind of thing. I, on the other hand, would probably walk into a well-known, nice salon, or nail bar, and ask how you get a degree. Ask an expert. Good luck!! (or you can call)
My friend applied to a local nail bar where they trained her up and sent her on the NVQ level 2 and then level 3. I'd approach your local reputable nail bar, they should be able to advise you on what you need to do and how to go about applying for courses. Or you could ask your careers adviser if you're still in school or your local college?
u need a nail tecnician qualification, duno what theyre called though? whats a NVQ? look in ur local beautician schools they'l always ae courses or go into a beauticians and ask do they train. i always see adverts for these courses.

    I really doubt u need a degree though...would u? a degree?
    none whatsoever
    not many!

put fliers at the local military bases.
make advertising in local papers. or flayers.
Team up with local shops. If customers buy so much from the shop, they get a coupon to visit your salon. This would work for almost any kind of store or service, even fast food!

Drop off flyers at hospitals, girls' schools, and colleges. Have people distribute flyers at malls (there's a lot of that going on already.)

Start a Yahoo! group with advice on beauty issues, and plug your business at the end of every message.

Offer prizes (free services) to the students who do the best at colleges, universities, schools, and vocational training courses.

Offer free services to ladies who contribute a substantial amount of money to charities.

    Ramadan is almost here.

Wherever there's a competition, offer coupons to participants and attendees.

Distribute flyers to ladies coming out of the masjids after salat-al-tarawih.

Even better: sponsor a tajweed or other Islam-related competition. You could offer scholarships (as well as free services) to the winners.

The objective is to make sure women know the name of your salon, and associate it with sophistication, social responsibility, and traditional culture.

The Science of Beauty - How important is symmetry?

I have seen documentaries on the science of beauty that claim that symmetry is of utmost importance in whether or not you are beautiful. One source points out, by way of example, that Denzel Washington is almost perfectly symmetrical while Lyle Lovett has an asymmetrical face.

My question is whether symmetrical features result in beauty or are symmetrical features a by-product of beauty? For example, even if Lyle Lovett had symmetry he would not be judged as extremely good looking. So is the axiom saying that unattractive people are by nature not symmetrical? Does an inherent correlation exist between symmetry and beauty - that you can not have one without the other - if you are symmetrical you are beautiful and that if you are unattractive you are by definition not symmetrical? The Science of Beauty - How important is symmetry?
It's much less about symmetary and much more about certain ratios and facial proportions.

I think the proof that it's not about symmetary is in the fact that when you take a picture half of someone's face and reflect it so you have two symmetrical halves, it just looks strange and unnatural. The Science of Beauty - How important is symmetry?
Symmetricalpeople are the most eyecatching. But who the heck cares?! loveand attraction are deeper than symmetry.Old people are still married and more inlove than when they wereyoung and beautiful.Does it suck that our culture praises symmetry, especially if you arent symmetrical?Yes.Life is notfair. to be corny, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

i don't think we should go by what the views of others are..

we are not cattle to a herd..

beauty is whatever you believe it to be..

symmetry doesn't matter a DAMN to me.

everyone is beautiful in their own, special way. xo
symmetry is an aesthetic which makes people to be considered beautiful and attractive to the eye. i think you could go as far as saying unattractive people are not symmetrical because if they were symmetrical they would then be 'attractive'.

to say beautiful or aesthetically pleasing? ...beauty is in the eye of the beholder
It is not that people that are asymmetrical are not beautiful, its just that symmetry pleases the eye, we find symmetrical more pleasing. In nature, the Devine Proportion rule comes in to play. If you are interested, do a google on this subject. The number 1.618 repeats itself over and over again in Nature. Check out this link..it's super interesting. http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/showt鈥?/a> Scroll down until you come to the category Music and start reading from there.. next comes the human body etc.. It explains why symmetry is pleasing to the eye.
I heard about this too. But it is interesting how, if you took a picture of a person and copied one half of their face, flipped it and put it on the other side so it is perfectly symmetrical, the person looks alien like. A video I saw long ago did this with ';beautiful'; celebrities and it looked realistic but they ended up just looking creepy. One of women looked pretty much the same because her face was pretty symmetrical but its interesting to think about.

Even with art. Art that is perfectly symmetrical is considered boring and static.

What makes a beauty review good and useful?

I am trying to review beauty products better. What are some important things to get in the review? What makes a beauty review good and useful?
Basic description of it the product.

And be sure to tell them what the product states it can do!

(Ex: Loreal mascara says it makes lashes 10X longer.)

Tell them whether or not the product did what it said it would.

Go over the pros and cons of the product.

What you liked best, or hated most.

What it did, or didn't do for you.

Why you like it, or didn't like it.

Why they should or shouldn't buy it.

And its always helpful if you post links of the product, or other places where they can get more information on it.

:DWhat makes a beauty review good and useful?
You are so very welcome! Report Abuse

Beauty reviews must me be very descriptive. How did the product go on? Did it last long on? What was the effect? Would you buy it again? If so, why? Is it worth the price mark? If it sucks, what other product would you recommend instead? That's pretty much it, I believe. Good luck! = )

What are some beauty secrets or tips you can't live with out?

What field of science or technology does medicines and beauty products belong to ?

please help me. im so confused. i dont know where beauty products and medicines belong to what field. Your answers will be very helpful! What field of science or technology does medicines and beauty products belong to ?
Beauty products are close to regular chemistry and clinical research. I guess you are talking actually designing them and making formulas.

They are really two separate fields though.

Cosmetics are mainly just that, just for the surface and top layer of skin, whereas medicine affects the entire thickness of the skin or the entire body.

If I had to narrow them down I would say Dermatology and Pharmacy. They are very close, good question. What field of science or technology does medicines and beauty products belong to ?
Actually, they both fall scientifically in the field of Pharmaceuticals. or the understanding of that field which is Pharmacology.

  • IS There a Beauty? I Know Some People are considered beautiful, what do you consider beautiful and hot?

I know some people are considered beautiful and some people and considered ugly. I know this horrible but some people really are ugly or beautiful, but what do you consider beautiful or hot? Is it all about good looks when dating, or is it about personality for both? What do you look for in a beautiful?IS There a Beauty? I Know Some People are considered beautiful, what do you consider beautiful and hot?
First of all, luckily everyones idea of beauty if different. It would be awful if everyone thought that the same person was beatiful. I think that it is wonderful that we are all looking for different things in a mate or just in a model. Some people are attracted to skinny, some people are attracted to people with more meat on their bones. As for me, I like someone who is of medium build, but in all reality, the build of someone is the least of it. I don't look for someone as a piece of meat, I look first at someone's eyes. As they say, the eyes are the portal to the soul. If someone has kind eyes, I feel that they have a kind personality and for me, I want someone who will be nice to me, who will treat me well, they don't have to be an adonis, I don't have to show them off, they aren't a prize, they are a person. I want a person who is smart, at least as smart as I am and interested in the things I am interested in. I want someone who is caring, that is hot to me. If someone brings me flowers or something else as a little token of showing he cares, that's hot.

Of course, I want someone who I like looking at, but he doesn't have to be model beautiful. I'm lucky, I've found that person. He won't ever make the cover of a magazine, but he is there for me when I'm sick, which unfortunately is most of the time. He brings me flowers, daisys, because that's my favorite flowers. He grew his hair into a ponytail, because that was what I wanted. he got his ear pierced, because that's what I wanted. Other people may not find him to be attractive, he isn't beautiful, but to me he is. We both love to talk about art and politics, that makes him beautiful to me. I couldn't ask for more. I've gone out with men who were model beautiful, but all they were interested in was themselves, who needs that. I'll take a man who wants me anytime. That's beautiful and hot.IS There a Beauty? I Know Some People are considered beautiful, what do you consider beautiful and hot?
Well you may think beauty is long brown hair and hazel nut eyes. But to me there is know beauty like confidence. You can be so ugly that you scared kids away but if your confident in what you wear and look. People no longer pay attention to your physicall features they usually pay more attention to how confident you are and how strong your personality is.
We are first attracted by looks, but soon find out that looks are not enough, if we are serious about wanting a relationship there must be a personality connection, a meeting of souls in some level that keeps us coming back to the same person for more, looks are secondary to personality and all that comes with it.So INNER BEAUTY is much more important than the outer shell we call body, and generally people who marry their soulmates are happier than people who marry looks.
It isn;t just looks, it is personality, smell, and even taste when you kiss.

You know what is hot when you see it.
i believe beauty is truly only skin deep
Yes there is ,I consider it as a';Gift'; From Allah (The Lord), if I have it I should be pure, and must be thankfully for him.

How do illegal aliens do it to destroy the beauty of neighboorhoods, its seem even the plants and birds are?

low budget and haggard, not to mention the roads, is it because they drive more or what, or they dont do maintenance on their own dwellings?

And if illegal aliens moved in to an upper class neighboorhood how long would it take for it to look like Tijuana. How do illegal aliens do it to destroy the beauty of neighboorhoods, its seem even the plants and birds are?
Well, like all uman beings, there are bad people and good people. Those who care about their community and those who do not. I think illegal aliens are human beings. Making the blanket statement ';Illegal immigrants do not pay taxes'; is naive at best. Are you aware that most Americans who are in the income bracket they are don't even have to pay taxes? And they pay sales tax on everything they buy, which goes to take care of you and me, our state funded privileges, that they do not have access to.

I know it's a touchy subject, and the law is the law. Well, slavery was once the law, so was denying women voting rights, and let's not forget, the holocaust while horrific was by the laws of the time completely legal.

I'm not saying that the law is wrong necessarilly, No reasonable person can expect this country or anyone to keep it's borders open to just about anyone without expecting disaster. However there is a difference between good laws and prejudice, and it's easy to blind ourselves with that. There are moral and legal implications to everything. If we owe a duty to a fellow human, hiding behind ';It's the law'; doesn't absolve anyone. Ask the guards at Buchenwald.

BTW: Did you know that it's been documented that contrary to popular opinion, there are actually less criminals among illegals? How do illegal aliens do it to destroy the beauty of neighboorhoods, its seem even the plants and birds are?
Jack's name is missing the 3 letter word at the end, so dont listen to him.

Now, its not just illegal aliens who destroy neighborhoods. So you cant just point fingers at them. Have you been to like South Central LA, or East LA? These people were born here in America, and look at their nasty disgusting neighborhoods, they just dont care. Some people are just careless.
Most rent so the houses are the slumlords responsibility to fix. You know that good American landlord that rents to anyone that won't/can't complain and lives in a nice suburb because he doesn't have anything but profit from his slums. I'm sure/know there's illegals that don't bring a neighborhood to ruin.
First of all, not all immigrants are Mexicans. We have a lot of decent spanish people that comes to this country. I'm not a immigrant but I'm Spanish and I don't like the way you refer to my race. I'm not going to sit here and degrade your race because I don't get to your level. Don't forget that every race has good and bad in them. It doesn't make it better because they are US Citizens.
The illegal immigrants will continue to corrupt America. We allow anyone to come in here, pop out babies like machine guns, (bonus check for welfare, which means more money) and allow anyone born here to become automatic U.S. citizens. Think of the U.S. as a small jar. Think of the world as a massive glass container. The marbles represent the people...as long as you try to put more and more in from the large jar (represents the entire world), to the small jar (U.S.), eventually, it will start overflowing. That is what is happening...overpopulation is HUGE right now. The rate we are going at, we won't ever be able to build enough roads, houses, schools, hospitals, etc., the way we are growing. The economy is bashed every single year. I have no idea how much the budget is for illegals, but it has to be billions, even trillions of dollars. They come here, get free food, health care, rob from Social Security, live off of welfare. The more kids they have, the more checks they get, so why not have eight to ten kids? The financial burden is horrible...no telling how many trillions these illegals are costing us yearly. How do we stop this crisis? Well, just take the benefits away. If we didn't have all the FREE things to offer, they wouldn't be coming here. The education...HAVE ALL BOOKS IN ENGLISH. Don't let the illegals get college education...take them back to Mexico if they can't get citizenship (it's not like it's hard in the first place...it may be a long process, but not hard.) The unemployment rates will continue to rise because they come here, don't work or anything, get everything for FREE, so why should they work...they just get everything handed to them in the first place. If they get paid to sit on their butts eating burritos all day instead of working, why not? Bringing more people in to take jobs...BS! If a legal U.S. citizen needs a job bad enough, he/she will do whatever they have to do to get that extra money.
